Educating girls is crucial to ending generational poverty – Sanusi
Muhammadu Sanusi II has stated that investing in girl-child education is essential for breaking the cycle of poverty that passes from one generation to the next.
He explained that when girls receive proper education, they are more likely to achieve financial independence, make informed choices, and positively influence their families and communities. Over time, this contributes to broader social and economic development.
Sanusi further noted that countries that prioritize girls’ education often record lower poverty levels, better health outcomes, and stronger economic performance. In his view, limiting access to education for girls slows national progress and deepens inequality.
He urged governments, communities, and families to work together to ensure equal access to education for all girls, describing education as a key driver of meaningful societal change.
He concluded that supporting girl-child education is both a moral duty and a practical investment in long-term poverty reduction and national growth.
