The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) has expressed concern over the growing number of attacks on schools in Nigeria, warning that the trend is putting the future of education at risk.

The union stated that repeated security incidents are making schools unsafe for both teachers and students, causing anxiety, interruptions in academic activities, and occasional closures.

NUT stressed that without stronger security measures, the situation could discourage school attendance, increase dropout rates, and negatively affect the overall standard of education nationwide.
