“We Aim to Empower Youths” — Bauchi Oil & Gas Academy Eyes NBTE Approval

The Bauchi State Oil & Gas Academy has announced that it is working toward securing accreditation for its programmes from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) by the first quarter of 2026.
Provost of the academy, Ahmed Yaro, made this known on Monday during an inspection visit to the academy’s facility in Alkaleri, headquarters of Alkaleri Local Government Area.
According to him, construction activities are progressing steadily with major projects underway, including lecture theatres, hostels, office spaces, laboratories, an auditorium, and an academic block.
He highlighted that the auditorium is being built to seat 300 people, while the two lecture theatres will each have a capacity of 250.
Speaking on the academy’s mission, Yaro said, “The academy aims to develop the skills of the local workforce, empower youths, and enhance vocational training.”
The Bauchi State Government established the institution following oil and gas exploration at the Kolmani oil field by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
The academy is designed to produce both artisans and professionals capable of meeting the growing labour demands of the oil and gas sector in the state
