Tunji Olowolafe Foundation Rolls Out ₦1 Billion Scholarship for 1,000 Students

Lagos, Nigeria March 13, 2026 The Tunji Olowolafe Foundation has launched a ₦1 billion scholarship programme aimed at supporting 1,000 Nigerian students over the next five years. The initiative, named the Gbemisola Olowolafe Miva Scholarship, honours the late Mrs. Gbemisola Olowolafe, the late wife of the foundation’s founder, Dr. Tunji Olowolafe.
Promoting Education Access
The scholarship will fully cover tuition fees for qualifying students enrolling at Miva Open University, a tech-driven institution offering flexible learning opportunities. By removing financial barriers, the foundation hopes to empower students from underprivileged backgrounds to pursue higher education.
A Vision for Human Capital Development
Dr. Olowolafe emphasized that the programme reflects his late wife’s lifelong belief that education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status. The foundation regards this initiative as an investment in Nigeria’s future workforce, preparing young people with the skills necessary for success in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
Expanding Digital Learning
Partnering with Miva Open University, known for its online and technology-enabled learning approach, the scholarship makes higher education more reachable for students across Nigeria and beyond. This aligns with broader efforts to increase access to digital learning, particularly for those facing financial or geographic challenges.
Application Process
The foundation has opened applications for eligible students, prioritizing those who demonstrate both academic potential and financial need. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply through the official channels provided by the foundation.
