	NECO Rewards Excellence at 2024 Productivity Awards in Minna – Reports
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has recognized the dedication and exceptional achievements of its staff and students at the 2024 Productivity Award ceremony, held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the council’s headquarters in Minna.
Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, personally presented certificates of service to retired staff members in appreciation of their loyalty and years of distinguished service to the council. He explained that the awards covered several categories, including Certificate of Service to retirees, Most Hardworking and Dedicated Staff of the Year, Best State Coordinator, Best Driver, and prizes for students with outstanding results in NECO examinations conducted in 2024.
Professor Wushishi highlighted the council’s recent achievements and reforms, saying:
“Over the past three years, we have recorded major successes such as the timely conduct and release of internal examination results, transparent staff promotion exercises, and the development of ICT software to promote fairness. Our staff have also benefited from training and retraining programs, and we have procured PS 900 series components for OMR scanning machines and all-in-one computer systems for our 36 state offices, Abuja, and zonal offices, as well as e-Granary databases to provide subject officers with access to e-resources.”
In his keynote address, the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji, praised the Registrar’s leadership, stating:
“Professor Wushishi is a man of integrity who has driven the council’s reforms effectively.” He went further to encourage excellence by donating N1 million to the best-performing students recognized at the event.
The Chairman of the Award Committee also commended NECO’s management for the initiative, remarking:
