The Katsina State Government has moved to strengthen inclusive sports development by selecting six schools to take part in a para sports competition aimed at students with disabilities. This effort reflects the state’s commitment to ensuring that young people with special needs are given opportunities to participate in organized sporting activities.

The event, which will run for two days, is set to hold at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium. It will feature various activities such as para-soccer, athletics, and specially adapted games, including blindfold exercises designed to build coordination, teamwork, and self-confidence among participants.

Schools Taking Part

Students from six institutions across the state have been selected for the competition. These include the School for the Blind in Katsina, the School for the Deaf in Malumfashi, the Community School for the Blind in Daura, and the School for the Deaf and Blind in Kofar Soro. Other participants will come from Government College Katsina and Katsina College Katsina, particularly for the para-soccer events.
