Education Boosts: Special Needs and Queen’s School Get New Buses in Kwara State

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has donated one bus each to the School for Special Needs and Queen’s School, both in Ilorin, to improve students’ mobility and enhance learning outcomes.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, the governor described the gesture as part of his administration’s commitment to education.
Speaking at the School for Special Needs, AbdulRazaq stressed the importance of prioritizing children with disabilities. “We have to keep our eyes on the ball. The fact that they have challenges means that we need to give them attention for the sake of these children with special needs,” he said. “We need to make sure that the Ministry of Education also focuses on their needs. We have about 500 students here with various special needs that our government must continue to cater to.”
The governor assured the school of more interventions, including the installation of solar power systems, and encouraged parents and guardians to pray for and support their children.
At Queen’s School, AbdulRazaq pledged to address pressing issues such as the construction of a perimeter fence and improved electricity. Commending the vision of the school’s founders, he stated, “We owe them a duty to keep the flag flying.”
The principals of both schools, Abdulganiyu Olododo of the School for Special Needs and Rashidat Oluwakemi of Queen’s School, appreciated the donation but appealed for additional government support
